So much for MD not having enough elite HS seniors to compete at the Dapper Dan.
( MD- 10 wins and 34 points, WPA- 3 wins and 10 points)
There are many, of us, that believe that properly managed, etite, MD, teams can compete on most levels. This is very simple concept from which the Junior Terps and the Dapper Dan Teams were born.
These kids, coaches, JR Plienis, and Maryland wrestling ALL earned some "respect". Congratulations.
Now if we could only get Neil educated enough, about MD wrestling, to see the light.

On 03/12/2012 at the regular monthly meeting of the MSWA, JR Plienis attempted to discuss the Dapper Dan Classic with the members. His request was denied. At the very mention of the Dapper Dan Classic, Carlos Sandavol and Neil Adleberg terminated any possible discussion and promptly ended the meeting. This particular group, of MD all-stars, has supported the MSWA over their careers. It is a shame that the MSWA is not allowed to support them in return. Is this a great pair, of leaders, or what ???
Here is what the MSWA Chairman thinks about Maryland's graduating seniors and their chances in the Dapper Dan 2012.
“The Dapper Dan event is a prestigious national event and it's great for our top kids to be able to compete against the best in the country. If we have any top guys who can make the national team, that would be great. The exhibition part against WPIAL all-stars is less prestigious and in my opinion we don't have enough elite seniors to have a competitive team. Michigan was shut out 42-0 last year. Yes the event is more about the wrestlers than Nuway. … If the board is prepared to support the Nuway sponsored event, I have no problem with that but I will immediately resign from the board and all MSWA activities, as I have stated from the very beginning! I have cc'd the entire board into this email and I'll support whatever conclusion they'd make from it….” Neil Adleberg
